Justice For The Unjust: Obtaining A Law Degree Online

Criminal justice will always exist because criminals will always exist. Since the beginning of time, civilizations have established rules, and among those civilizations, there have been those who wish nothing more than to transgress those rules. Law enforcement, corrections, probation and law are all filed under criminal justice. In a sense, any career that deals with the incarceration, defense, prosecution, sentencing or apprehension of criminals. Criminal justice is one of the most popular career choices for online education, as there are so many specializations to choose from, and so many degrees, including certificates, associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. However, obtaining a law degree online has become a popular choice for many in recent years, due to the time and money needed to complete a law education. With a law degree online, students can continue with their regular full-time jobs and attend classes at their own leisure and pace.

The Right Hand Of The Law

A law education is a complicated education. A law degree online usually begins with the Juris Doctorate, a three-year program completed after a four-year Bachelors degree has already been obtained. Technically, this undergraduate degree can be in any discipline and from any university. However, it does help to have a foundation in law or criminal justice. After the Juris Doctorate, a student will have to pass the bar examination in order to earn the right to practice law. But diligent work and dedication to any law degree online will prepare a student to pass that examination, not to fail. Every year, more and more students graduate with law degrees, making the job market increasingly competitive, therefore specialization and extensive education is required, and more and more students dedicate even more years to their law education, including further graduate work and certificates in the finer points of law, all of which are available with a law degree online.

A law degree online prepares any student for the life of a lawyer. A lawyer works long, hard hours and deals with difficult cases and clients. Most lawyers research legal matters, meet clients, hold meetings, attend court and interact with co-workers, including secretaries, paralegals, assistants and officials, on a daily basis. However, the average starting salary for a lawyer is $55,000, and the average annual salary for a lawyer is $94,930. Lawyers can work in school l aw, health law, tax planning, international law, insurance law and environmental law, just to name a few, and a law degree online can help with any of these fields.
